Almost a year ago now, Board Member Francis-Daniel Proulx donated an oil painting, 8 “X 16”, valued at $ 300 , representing the two ancestors of the artist plowing the earth:

Jean Prou (st) – (Jacquette Fournier), Pointe-à-la-Caille on the paternal side and Noël Morin on the maternal side.

We see on the picture on the left, the artist handing the work to Mr. Clément Proulx, president of the Proulx Families Association of America.

Francis Daniel Proulx, is from the city of Rimouski. A self-taught figurative painter, he made oil his favorite medium. Since his retirement in 2011, he has devoted himself to his art. His name of artist-painter “NOVA” comes from the definition of this word which means explosion of a star thus creating a multitude of colors in the space.

What motivates our artist in the field of visual art is that one of these great-great-uncles is the famous Sir Antoine van Dyck. “Van Dyck had a great influence on English portrait painters and is often considered the creator of the English School of Painting. An oil painting pigment, the brown van Dyck, owes its name to him, as well as a photographic process. ”

The Board of Directors wishes to thank him for his creativity, his work and his generosity.

The work is the grand prize of the draw that will be held at the next annual general meeting on September 6th, 2014, in Rimouski. Tickets are $ 0.99. please contact us to find out which member of the Association is closest to you.
