Doctor born in St-Augustin des Deux-Montagnes in 1869. He married Marie-Anne Déziel Labrèche in 1895. He practiced his profession in St-Théodore d'Acton and then in St-Pie de Bagot. He died there in 1942.

« [He] signed works under the pseudonym Joannes Iovhanné, Catholic priest, teacher, editor, school administrator and author, born January 7th, 1846 in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Lower Canada, son of Jean-Baptiste Proulx, known as Clément, and Adéline Lauzon; died March 1st, 1904 at the Ottawa General Hospital and was buried on the 5th in Saint-Lin, Quebec ». He published a famous novel entitled: " L'Enfant perdu et retrouvé ou Pierre Cholet " (Mile-End [Montreal], 1887).
