Florian Proulx, the new president of the Proulx Families Association of America

The Association of Proulx Families of America gave itself, on Saturday in Lévis, a new board of directors and a new president in the person of Florian Proulx. He has been a member of the board of directors since 2013. He succeeds Clément Proulx, who has chaired the association since 2011.

A resident of Chicoutimi, Florian is a professional manager. Retired from the Quebec government, he spent his career at the Ministry of Economy, Science and Innovation. He is a proud descendant of Pierre Proulx and Marie Gauthier from Champlain where the couple settled in the mid-17th century.

Mrs. Georgette Lévesque has left the board of directors, which she was a member since the founding of the Association. Charles-Eugène Proulx of St-Roch-des-Aulnaies will be replacing her.

The board of directors elected on Saturday is now comprised of Florian Proulx, President, Jean-Pierre Proulx, Vice-President, Christiane Brisson, Secretary, Clément Proulx, Treasurer and Councilors Langis Proulx, Marie-Josée Proulx, Gabrielle Proulx and Charles-Eugène Proulx.

On behalf of all members, thank you to Georgette Lévesque and Clément Proulx. Thank you also and our congratulations to all elected officials, new and old. The general assembly also received the outgoing president’s report and the financial report.

The meeting also unanimously decided to set the annual membership fee at $ 25. It was $ 20 since the foundation almost 10 years ago. This resolution will come into effect for the 2017-2018 season.

Finally, the assembly took note of the project of a trip to France in May 2017. It will be discussed shortly on this site.
