With both feet firmly planted in Christ, in the early morning of Sunday April 10, 2016, Lorne Peter Proulx passed from this life to the next after a brief but brave battle with cancer. Lorne was born June 26, 1945 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Winnipeg MB. He attended school at Our Lady of Victory and was a proud graduate of Windsor Park Collegiate. He also attended many courses at The Winnipeg Adult Education Centre. After growing up as the oldest of five brothers, Lorne married Carol Harmer in 1969. Lorne and Carol had two children together, Teresa Lorraine (April 1970) and David Lorne (May 1972). He worked 34 years (taking no sick days) as a Winnipeg Transit Maintenance Worker to earn a living and provide for his family. As his family grew, Lorne’s love and pride was for his children and grandchildren. He took a keen interest in their education and encouraged them often in their studies and life endeavours. It was also towards his family that he expressed his love through generous and often unexpected gifts. Lorne was predeceased by his parents George and Natalie Proulx, and brothers Roger and Grant. He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his; brother George and wife Liz (Ria), brother Robert and wife Kathy, sister in-law Susan, ex-wife Carol, daughter Teresa and husband Rory (Noah, Grace, Gavin), son David and wife Hettie (Christian, Brendan, Danae), very special friend Joanna, and many extended family and friends.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
